Stockholm is Scandinavia's most influental city. Stockholm is Sweden's cultural, political and economic center.

The city was founded around the years 1187-1250. In Stockholm are located Sweden's parliament, government, the Royal Family and the Supreme Court. Stockholm became the official capital of the Kingdom of Sweden in 1634. Currently Stockholm has 864.324 inhabitants. Stockholm's center is built on 14 islands. In Stockholm the Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. Stockholm's center consists of Kungsholmen, Norrmalm, Södermalm and Östermalm neighborhoods.

Stockholm's attractions:

Millesgården is in my mind the most fascinating attraction in Stockholm. Milllesgården is the artis home of the sculptor Carl Milles. It is located on the island of Lindingö. From Millesgården is a magnificent view to the Lake Mälaren.

Hötorget is a square in the middle of Stockholm. The square is bordered by the Royal Concert Hall, the PUB department store and the Filmstaden Sergel. On weekdays Hötorget is a vegetable and fruit sales center.

Sergels torg is a square right in the middle of Stockholm. Sergel Square is famous for its tiles and 37 meters high Kristall-Vertikal accent-column, which is located in the middle of the square.

Djurgården is a park in the center of Stockholm. There are, inter alia, the Wasa ship museum, the Nordic Museum (Nordiska Museet), Green Lund amusement park and open-air museum and zoo Skansen.
